Accessibility

A SEND organisation should expect more from inclusive design.

We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including visitors who use assistive technology, keyboard navigation, enlarged text or reduced-motion settings.

What we have built in

Accessibility is part of the design system.

We aim to keep the core website understandable and operable without relying on colour, animation or a mouse.

Keyboard accessNavigation, links, buttons and forms are intended to remain usable by keyboard.
Visible focusInteractive elements retain a clear focus indicator.
Reduced motionVisitors who request reduced motion do not need to experience reveal animations or transitions.
Semantic structureHeadings, labels, landmarks and link text are written to support navigation and assistive technology.
Readable contrastText and key controls are designed to maintain strong contrast across light and dark surfaces.
Responsive layoutPages adapt to smaller screens and enlarged text without requiring a separate mobile site.

Known limitations

Some legacy policy documents are hosted externally and may not meet the same accessibility standard as the main website. Where a document is difficult to access, contact LRL Education and we will provide the information in a more suitable format where reasonably possible.

Feedback and contact

Tell us which page or document is causing a problem and what format or adjustment would help. Use the contact form, email info@lrleducation.co.uk, or call 0161 266 3991.

This statement describes the design intent of the current website and should be reviewed after material functionality or content changes.

SEND & attendance
Support for young people whose additional needs and attendance difficulties are closely connected.

Many of the young people we support have SEND alongside EBSA, persistent absence or severe absence. We consider both: what is making education difficult to access, and what will help the young person take part and keep taking part.
